Most people don’t come to us asking for a specific product.

They come because something feels unclear, messy, or risky.

Two ways people work with us (both are fine)

Option 1: Specific advice only (transactional)

If you already know what you want help with, we’re very happy to advise on a single area.

Typical examples:

  • Protection or insurance
For this type of work:

  • There’s no requirement to do a full financial plan
  • We agree the scope and fee upfront
  • There’s no pressure to take ongoing services

Many clients first come to us this way, then come back later as things change.

Option 2: Planning first (often cheaper overall)

Where people have multiple pensions, investments or moving parts, a financial plan often works out cheaper overall.

That’s because the groundwork is done once, rather than repeating the same analysis every time something needs changing.

This is why many clients with £150k+ of pensions or investments choose to start with a holistic financial plan – but it’s never compulsory.

Planning first means:

  • A joined up view of your finances and wider impact of decisions.
  • A fixed, transparent planning fee
  • Clear priorities and “what if?” modelling
  • Reduced costs for follow-on advice because the hard work is already done
  • No obligation to implement anything with us

Our Role

We won’t push you into a full financial plan if it’s not appropriate.

And we won’t provide piecemeal advice if it’s likely to cost you more or cause problems later.

Our job is to help you make informed choices, not to funnel you into a predefined service.
