Life & Critical Illness Insurance: Protecting Your Loved Ones

Written by John J Bloomfield

Along with the devastating emotional effect that diagnosos of a critical illness or premature death can cause there is also often a devastating financial effect.

The responsible thing to do for all adults who have people that depend on us is of course to arrange appropriate insurance so that if the unthinkable becomes reality, money is one less thing to worry about.

John J BloomfieldMy name is John and I have been a financial adviser most of my adult life, having experienced first hand the devastation of a loved one being diagnosed with a critical illness back in 2012 when my wife was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis I truly understand the benefit of being properly insured.

I don't believe that anyone should have to go on to a comparison website and guess at how much cover they and attempt to get a quote. Insurance is supposed to provide peace of mind you need to know that you have the right type, at the right price, that it has been set up correctly ao that ultimately if you need to claim you have no problems.

I am a fully qualified financial adviser, I am not in a call center sat at a computer waiting to 'quote you' so you will not get an instant quote from me.

But if you would like personalised help and advice get the right cover at the best possible price then please fill out the form below, and I will contact you as soon as possible.

Regards

John J Bloomfield BA (Hons), CeMAP, CeFA, CeLTM, DipPFS

Financial Adviser

P.S. If you already have cover I will be happy to review this to see if it is the right cover at the right price for you.

Aren't all insurance policies the same?

If only things were that simple!

When we talk about life insurance for example, you would think this would be the simplest of all the products, you die it pays! And to a degree this is true but not everyone relaises that the price they quote you is often not the price you end up paying. When you submit your application to the insurer they will ask you all manner of medical questions to establish if you present a higher than average risk (chance they will have to pay out) based on that medical informtaion they may offer you amended term or a higher price! My experience and professonal conatcts at leading insurers means I can usually get a good indication of how they are likely to react to your information before we make an application, and if you have a particularly complex history then we can sometimes apply to more than one insurer at a time and cancel the application that doesn't get the best result.

And Critical Illness cover can be more complicated still!

Although there are a list of conditions that most policies adhere to put together by the association of british insurers but many insurers offer cover for many other conditions and several have differrent definitions for the severity of conditions before they will pay. By going through your medical history, priorities and biggest worries with you first I believe we can strike the right balance between, best quality cover and best price.

Ultimately it also depends on what the policy is for?

If the plan is to pay off a mortgage or other debt it will be ste up on very differrent terms than if it is to ensure your family can live comfortably if something happens to you or to pay funeral expenses. That's another reason to take advice from a qualified adviser such as myself rather than a comparison site.
